With an approximate daily readership of 2.6 million, USA TODAY has the 4th largest circulation of any newspaper in the United States. USA TODAY’s Best Financial Advisory Firm is awarded to the top registered investment advisory (RIA) firms in the United States based on two dimensions:

• Recommendations from financial advisors, clients, and industry experts: Recommendations were collected via an independent survey among over 25,000 individuals. Clients, industry experts, and financial advisors working for an RIA firm could recommend the RIA firms they find commendable.
• Development of Assets under Management (AUM): Both short-term (12-month) and long-term (5-year) AUM development were analyzed using publicly available data.

To make it a little simpler, USA TODAY, in partnership with independent market research and data firm Statista, published its 2nd annual list of best financial advisers awarding Best Financial Advisory Firm to Detroit Area’s SGH Wealth Management.

RIAs are companies that have a fiduciary duty to act in their clients’ best interests at all times and that charge fees rather than sales commissions.

Methodology

The recommendations for each RIA firm are summarized and evaluated anonymously. In addition to the survey results additional metrics (e.g., data in relation to assets under management (AUM)) will be included in the final analysis.
